If you are looking for authentic and meaningful conversation while hiking- that’s the goal. Every month the Unity Hiking group will plan a brisk less than 5-mile walking hike in the Puget Sound area that incorporates prayer, guided walking meditation, and other topics/ activities that help foster genuine connection and intellectual stimulation.

Liability Waiver & Release of Claims

  1. Assumption of Risk I acknowledge that hiking and outdoor activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to: slips, falls, encounters with wildlife, exposure to weather, dehydration, and accidents during travel to and from events. I voluntarily choose to participate with full knowledge of these risks.

  2. Release of Liability In consideration of being allowed to participate in activities organized by the Unity of Olympia Hiking Group, I hereby release, waive, and discharge the group, its organizers, volunteers, and members from any and all liability, claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury (including death) that may occur while participating in group activities.

  3. Indemnification I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Unity of Olympia Hiking Group, its organizers, volunteers, and members against any claims, damages, or expenses (including attorney’s fees) arising from my participation in group activities.

  4. Medical Treatment I authorize the Unity of Olympia Hiking Group to obtain emergency medical treatment for me if necessary. I understand that I am responsible for any medical costs incurred.

  5. Fitness to Participate I certify that I am physically fit to participate in hiking activities and that I have no medical condition that would prevent me from safely participating. I agree to bring any necessary medications or equipment required for my health and safety.

  6. Photographs and Media I grant permission for photographs or videos taken during group activities to be used for promotional or informational purposes by the Unity of Olympia Hiking Group.

  7. Governing Law This waiver shall be governed by and construed under the laws of the State of Washington.

  8. Compensation and Release of Interest I understand that no compensation for efforts or participation of the below-named participant is promised or implied. I hereby release all interests to Unity of Olympia, the Regional Association of Unity Churches, and Unity Worldwide Ministries.
